Your
Global Choice for  Logistics Executives

Congratulations College Graduates!

To those of you entering the job market for the first time as college graduates, you have it in your power to get the job you want! The world of Logistics is always in need of new talent in all aspects, including transportation, supply chain management, procurement, warehousing, distribution, and technology...just to name a few. If your  education relates to logistics, then this is the website for you! There are a few simple items you can do to help you obtain that first career position.

First of all, over half of the resumes submitted are rejected because of errors, mostly involving spelling. That's right, an employer figures that the least you should be able to do is use the Spell Check button on your word processor.

The next key is really about targeting your resume. You need to focus on what you can do for the employer, as well as what fits your experience and your field.

Experience is gained in many ways. Almost anybody over the age of ten and is just entering the job market, has grown up around computers. These skills are very important to employers. If you have volunteered for a charity, worked at a burger joint, been a camp counselor, that is all considered valuable experience. Do not short change yourself!

Be truthful and do not "inflate" your resume with qualifications you do not possess and don't lie. A resume is a listing of your skills and abilities. Your value as a human being is measured elsewhere.

Become familiar with the language of the industry, so you will understand what folks are talking about on your interviews. Remember, the Senior Director that has been on the job for 40 years will have forgotten more than you know about the business. Treat everyone involved in the process with the utmost respect.

Use a lot of action words (verbs) in your resume and never, ever use the word "I". You become part of a TEAM. There is no "I" in TEAM!

If the employer want you to fax , phone, mail, email, or send your resume by dogsled, then do it that way.

Unless specifically instructed not to, always send a cover letter with your resume that includes your job objective, and how your skills match the job. Also, include how you found out about the opportunity, be it newspaper, a friend, a specific website, etc..

Please, use plain white paper and forget all the fancy graphics and pictures. Keep the resume simple. Have mercy on the people that have to read them; they will reward you for it!

Good luck with your job search and we looking forward to having you work with us!
